See Your Home Before You Do The Work

Oh my, do I have something to show all you planners out there! Have you ever looked around your room and just couldn't handle the way it was arranged any more then grabbed a pencil and paper and started to sketch out the room? I am totally guilty of this, but recently I was introduced to a site named Lucid Chart. You can sign up for FREE; which, makes this site even better for what it has to offer to us visual based people.

Once you have signed up, you will be brought to you are brought to the documents main page. In the right had corner within the lighter gray bar is a button called "More Templates". Inside  this you are given a list of choice, this site can be used to map out pretty much any project you want to tackle. Underneath the standard section, locate the option called "Floorplan" and click on it to bring the already made made layouts. Now you have the choice between a blank floorplan, house floorplan, and office floorplan but for the sake of this blog lets stick with the house floorplan.

Once you have clicked on the template it will direct you to a new screen creating the template for you. Now this is where all the fun really begins! Here i would start by moving some walls around to match your own house, you can even add walls by checking out the list to the left of the screen. Me I like to actually measure each room and plug them into correctly so I can really see exactly what each room is capable of. Once you have created the layout of your house or room you can start to add the furniture. Lucid Chart does have some shapes available to you for furniture. You can choose to match your furniture the best to what they have or you can create your own.

Once you have completely placed your room, you can visually see how each room in your house is going to look and exactly how much space is left. The beauty of this site as well, is that you can save all of this effort and come back to it whenever you need a change. With all the work already done, you can just log on and start dragging the furniture around and done!

I hope this site makes your rearranging that much easier as it did for me! Trust me it is totally worth it and I absolutely am in love with it!
